If you and your friend have been holding on to Snapstreak for a while, probably months or even years, then there can be nothing worse than losing it. Could be that you forgot about it, got busy with something else, or Snapchat’s server just gave out on you. But don’t panic, there are still a few ways to restore it and in this read, we’ll show you exactly how you can restore your Snapchat streak.

What is a Snapstreak?

I know if you have stumbled upon here then you already know your basics, but here’s a quick recap. A Snapstreak starts when you and a friend, on Snapchat, start sending Snaps to each other daily. You keep it up for three days, and you have started a new Snapstreak represented by a fire “🔥” emoji. It’s not a one-man process, as you both will have to send each other Snaps to keep it going.

In case either of you two forgets to send one within 24 hours, then an hourglass ⌛emoji will appear next to your friend’s chat. This is a warning that your Snapstreak is about to expire in a few hours. You and your friend need to send one ASAP to keep it going. Fail to do so, and you’ve lost your Snapstreak along with all the hard work you’ve put into sending them.

How to Recover Lost Snapstreak on Snapchat

Now that you have lost your Snapstreak, the next question is, “How to get it back?”. Well, there are two ways to go about it. We have discussed both of them below. Checkout before it’s too late.

Use the Restore Snapstreak Option

Each Snapchat user gets a free Snapstreak Restore, allowing you to recover your lost streak once with your special friend. This option will be available for 24 hours after you’ve lost your streak. Here’s how you can use it to get back your Snapstreak.

1. Open Snapchat, and tap on the Chat tab from the bottom.
2. Here, tap on the Restore option next to the friends chat. You can also use the Restore streak option inside your friend’s profile page.
3. In the confirmation prompt, tap on Restore again.

You’ll be charged 99 cents per Restore after you have used your first one. However, Snapchat+ users get three Restores for free every month.

Contact Snapchat Support

Another and more traditional way to get back your Snapstreak is by contacting the Snapchat support team. If you are quick and reach out to them about your lost streak, then they might help you recover it. This method is obviously free and works for the most part. So let’s see how you can contact Snapchat about your Snapstreak.

1. On Snapchat, tap on your Bitmoji avatar at the top left.
2. Now tap the cogwheel icon at the top right.
3. Scroll down to the “Support” section, and select I Need Help.
4. Here, tap on I lost my Snapstreak.
5. On the support page, tap on the “this form” link.
6. Here, fill out the form and then tap on Submit.

Team Snapchat will receive your request, and they should reach out to you, and help recover your lost Snapstreak.
